Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana Right to Life Political Action Committee (IRTL-PAC) today proudly announced its endorsement of Todd Young for United States Senate.
Prior to running for office, Senator Todd Young served on the board of Hannah House crisis pregnancy center in Bloomington. During his time in the Senate, Young has compiled a 100% pro-life record, including votes in support of the Hyde Amendment and its restriction on using tax dollars to pay for elective abortions, the No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act, the Born Alive Survivors Protection Act, and the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Young has also fought back against the Democrats’ radical abortion agenda by opposing the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” that sought to erase pro-life state laws by codifying in federal law a right to abortion for the full nine months of pregnancy.
One of Young’s most notable accomplishments was the leading role he played in identifying and selecting fellow Hoosier, Justice Amy Coney Barrett, to President Trump in 2017 to fill a seat on the 7th Circuit Court. He led the fight to see her nominated and confirmed to the Supreme Court. Without Todd’s leadership, we would not have Justice Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court.
Young’s support for the confirmation of Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barret helped shift the balance of the court, a shift that raises hopes Roe vs. Wade may finally be overturned when the court rules in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization this summer. Young also opposed the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, citing concerns that she will attempt to legislate from the bench instead of upholding the U.S. Constitution.
“Todd Young is a strong pro-life voice in the United States Senate,” states IRTL-PAC chairman Mike Fichter. “We need a fighter like Todd who won’t back down to the all-out assault on the unborn being waged by the Biden-Harris administration. Indiana can be proud to be represented by Todd Young in the Senate and we urge all pro-life Hoosiers to support him with their votes, time, and financial support.”
